Rice Crispy Treats
3 TBSP butter or margarine
1 pakage (10oz ) or 4 cups marshmallows
6 cups cereal
In large pan melt the butter on low heat. Next, add marshmallows. Keep stirring mixture until it is all melted together. Remove from heat and then add the cereal. Mix well until it is all coated. Cover a spatula or rubber scrapper with butter or cooking spray and place mixture into a greased 13x9 pan. Use spatula or scrapper to spread evenly. Cool and then you can cut them into shaped and serve.
I made these for new years eve 2009 for Jacob and I to snack on. I guess they are great for parties or anytime you feel like you need a treat.
*When we were younger my mom would add green food coloring to the marshmallows while they melted and use corn flakes instead of rice crispy cereal. She would form this green mixture into personal sized Christmas wreaths and add a few red hots to the top before they cooled so they would stick. Isn't my mom creative?
